What is an MOT?
The MOT test checks that your vehicle meets the statutory road safety standards. Your tyre tread, lights, mirrors, seatbelts, steering and exhaust will be checked, amongst other safety components of your car. You can find a detailed list of the car parts that Quayside MOT & Service Centre will test during an MOT, on the .GOV website here.
When does my car need an MOT?
You must get an MOT test every year, once your vehicle is 3 years old (or 1 year old in some cases). You can then renew your MOT up to a month before it expires. The earliest date you can get your vehicle tested is printed on the pass certificate.
After the MOT test
In the unfortunate event that your car does not pass it's MOT Test, we will let you know what needs to be rectified to be able to award your car it's MOT certificate, along with an estimated cost. Once you have approved the quote, we will get to work and even provide you with an MOT Re-Test at no additional cost.
